Touluse has a tight connection with Occitan culture. That’s why Toulouse was considered as the unofficial center of Occitan culture. The city is also the place of an equivalent French Academy named Academie des Jeux Floraux. The academy was meant to speaking regions of Occitan in the south of France. Cross of Toulouse was the emblem of the county became the city’s symbol throughout the Middle Ages. The symbol was popular along with Occitan symbols.

There are some interesting and culture-rich museums you can find in Toulouse such as the Musee Georges Labit, the Musee des Abbatoirs, the Fondation Bemberg, and also the Musee des Augustins. Each museum noted for its own functions like Museum de Toulouse is famous for its natural history and the Musee Saint-Raymond for its antiquity.  In 1974, a water tower that was built in 19th century, Le Chateau d’Eau was transformed as a gallery by a Toulouse-born photographer, Jean Dieuzaide. Later on, the place is devoted to photography.
